In this half-day workshop, we will learn the basics of JavaScript. Real-life exercises will help you grasp new concepts quickly and with ease.

JavaScript 1.0 teaches you the basics of developing in JavaScript, one of the world's most popular programming languages. The instructor will take participants through the basics of programming and how JavaScript can be used in web development. With the help of our mentors, participants will try writing their first lines of code and create a simple project.

JavaScript 1.0 is a hands-on workshop, you need to bring your computer. Code will be written in Codepen, which is online, free and requires no installation. During the workshop, participants will be divided into groups and assisted by mentors.

• 10:00 - 10.15 Workshop introduction
• 10.15 - 10.30 What is programming?
• 10.30 - 12.00 Your first steps in JavaScript
• 12:00 - 13:00 Lunch break (you can bring your own lunch or eat at any of the restaurants nearby)
• 13:00 - 14.45 Teamwork on a project and individual mentoring
• 14.45 - 15.00 Summary

Prerequisites:
 

• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is helpful. (If you’re a complete beginner, don't worry, we will send you a couple of resources beforehand.
• Bring your own laptop.
