The course is designed to help you get the most out of our coding bootcamps - both Web Development Coding Bootcamp and Data Science Coding Bootcamp. However, if you're not (yet) looking to immerse yourself fully into programming, you can also take this course on its own.

In 8 online evening sessions, we’ll cover topics such as the bigger picture of software development, setting up your development environment, basics of structuring and styling a website, core programming concepts, and best practices for working with your computer efficiently. By the end of the 2-week program, you will have learnt coding fundamentals, developed your technical communication skillset and refined your problem-solving skills.

Intro to Programming (Coding Bootcamp Prep Course) is a live class, taught real-time by our instructors. You’ll have time to ask questions and interact with the instructors, plus have a chance to get feedback on your code. You’ll also meet and get to know other people at the same point on their coding journeys.

Over the span of just two weeks, we will cover the building blocks of web development for you to be successful in your future coding bootcamp experience. Self-prep for a coding bootcamp can be difficult without guidance and this course was designed for beginners to efficiently build their skills step by step.

The course is built around Coding Bootcamp Praha’s active learning approach, which emphasizes practical skill-building and prepares students for accelerated bootcamp learning. Diving into a full-time coding bootcamp can feel intimidating, so building a solid foundation before you begin a bootcamp may be reassuring. Or if you simply prefer extra practice or picking up new skills, the course is also be a good option for you.

Who's Intro to Programming (Coding Bootcamp Prep Course) For?

• Foundations of programming
• Set up your development environment (Terminal, IDE)
• Basics of HTML and CSS
• Basics of JavaScript (data types, functions, looping, conditionals and more)
• Learn how to work efficiently with your computer

• Core skills for succeeding in our Web Development or Data Science Coding Bootcamp

Course length and schedule: 

06 January - 16 January 2025, 2 weeks, four evening online sessions per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) from 18:00 to 20:00 (CET):

Course Fee:

The course fee of 9000 CZK can be paid in either in CZK or EUR (see above the approximate EUR value). Students who are already accepted to a full-time Web Development Bootcamp or Data Science Bootcamp are eligible for a 60% discount. 

Prerequisites:

• Have your computer ready
• Reliable Internet connection
• A second monitor is recommended but not a must
• The course is designed for beginners
• Count with extra time for studying outside of live sessions
